Meet the Founder
Mary Lemanski
Merry Knell DIY Music Academy was founded by Mary Lemanski, a professional musician, songwriter, recording artist, music educator, and longtime independent artist.
Mary began performing professionally at age 11 and has more than 15 years of experience teaching individual music lessons and group classes. She also brings more than 20 years of experience as a do-it-yourself musician—writing, recording, releasing, distributing, and promoting her own music.
A DIY musician does more than create music. Independent artists must also learn how to manage releases, build an audience, promote their work, understand publishing and distribution, and make informed business decisions.
Mary created Merry Knell DIY Music Academy to make this knowledge more accessible. Her goal is to help musicians not only learn their craft, but also understand how to bring their music into the world.

We are currently developing a growing curriculum of online music and music business courses.
Upcoming self-guided and group courses will cover topics such as music theory, songwriting, getting your song from concept to consumer, and the essential music business knowledge today’s musicians need.

Musician Tour & Travel Planning Services
Independent musicians often have to manage much more than the music itself—including the logistics of getting from one place to another.
Through our partnership with Cyberpunk Travel, Merry Knell DIY Music Academy can connect musicians with travel planning and booking assistance for tours, music conferences, festivals, business trips, and personal travel.
Services may include help researching tour routes, booking flights and hotels, arranging transportation, coordinating group travel, comparing travel options, and organizing multi-city itineraries.
Whether you are planning your first road tour, traveling to an industry event, or simply need help arranging a personal getaway, Cyberpunk Travel can help make the process more organized and manageable.
